Colorado’s Velorama Festival is back for yet another year of intense cycling, loud music, and plenty of fun! This unusual blend of bikes and rock music has grabbed the attention of people from all walks of life. On the one hand, cycling enthusiasts arrive en masse to participate in one of the most competitive bike races in Colorado. The rest of the festival grounds are filled with fans, spectators, and some of the biggest bands in modern rock. The result is three full days of chaos and fun unlike anything you have ever experienced.

What in the World is Velorama?
Velorama is at once a world-class bike race and a music festival that runs August 11-13. By bringing these two diverse interests together, visitors are able to enjoy a wild 72 hours of athleticism and live music.
The party begins with more than 100 bike racers taking to the streets of Denver, Colorado Springs and Breckenridge. These bike races are followed by a huge concert each night.

Who Will Be There?
As far as bike racers go, Colorado’s incredible landscape and challenging terrain draws cyclists from all over the world. As for the bands, this year will feature Wilco, New Pornographers and La Santa Cecilia on Friday; Death Cab for Cutie, Saint Motel and Tennis on Saturday; and The Old 97’s, The Jayhawks and Rob Drabkin on Sunday. There will be music playing all afternoon and evening for you to rock out with.
In addition to the race and rock, Velorama also draws a huge crowd of vendors and food artists. This year you can enjoy more than 200 booths in one big flea market, alongside a variety of Denver’s favorite craft brewers, food trucks and more.

What’s the Catch?
Velorama is one of the fastest-growing Colorado music festivals. Unlike other music festivals that only serve a niche fan base, this special event brings together people from a variety of different backgrounds and offers a unique opportunity to listen to great music and watch an incredible endurance race. The people who put this event together are trying to reshape the way we think of cycling, and they want to give back to the community.
If you’ve been looking for a reason to get away for a few days and listen to some great music, you really cannot go wrong with Velorama, Deathcab for Cutie, Wilco and all the other great bands will definitely make a big splash at this year’s event, but there is plenty of other festival stuff to do while you’re there. Get your tickets soon as ticket prices will increase on July 15.
