Quoc Pham Cycling Shoes are by far the most stylish cycling shoes I have come across. Made of soft leather, these shoes glow with style, yet are comfortable enough to wear all day long, both on and off the bike.

Quoc Pham Cycling Shoes come in a variety of styles, from shoes that would not look out of place at the Sydney Opera House, to classic sneakers. Some are intended to be used with cleats, and some are intended to be used in toe clips. Those that are designed for cleats include cleats covers, so you could wear them in toe clips if you prefer not to go clipless.

Like many other modern cycling products, Quoc Pham Cycling Shoes are designed to integrate cycling seamlessly into normal, everyday life. As they put it:
“Our shoes combine high quality materials, expert craftsmanship and innovative design in ways that allow cyclists to seamlessly transition from cycle to sidewalk to office.”

Quoc Pham Cycling Shoes are handmade by craftsmen, each pair carefully crafted out of high quality leather and then sewn. They are then polished to bring out the patina in the leather. Quoc Pham claims this patina will only improve with time and wear.
Of course, leather is a natural fiber that will let the skin on your feet breathe. Being non-synthetic, it will mold to your foot shape, ensuring the shoes become more comfortable as you wear them. Much like a leather Brooks saddle. I had one of those once and really loved how it just kept getting better and better every year. I suspect these shoes will be the same. Of course they won’t always look brand new – instead, they should acquire distinction and character as they age, like a fine leather jacket.

And being leather, the shoes are of course completely windproof.

The shoes have balanced, hardened midsoles that are MTB/SPD cleats compatible. The cleats clips are recessed into the soles of the shoes, so that you can walk normally when off the bike.

Some of the models add a bit of height due to the width of the sole, but for most people, that’s a good thing. Definitely a selling feature for me!
The wide range of styles offers something for pretty much everyone. I was impressed by the Derby, which is stylish enough to look good off the bike, but also includes cycling-specific features, such as a cork insole layer for shock absorption, water-resistant uppers, and a 3M reflective back tab. Several of the styles include this reflective back tab.
However, for me the very best are the Quoc Pham Urbanite Cycling Shoes, which are stylish and elegant, while at the same time being perfect cycling shoes.

Quoc Pham cycling shoes have only just become available in Canada, but have already received rave reviews from all over the world. Road Cycling UK brands them “simple and elegant riding shoes;” while Bike Radar refers to their “classic looks and top quality.” Road.cc refers to them as “shoes for toeclip devotees who want to look like a million bucks on or off the bike.”

The Washing Machine Post claims that “the leather is the softest I have ever had encasing my feet. … wearable joy”! I can vouch for that – I love good leather – and this is superlative leather.

You can purchase these shoes in North America from Brilliant Health International Distributors. Scroll down on the home page to find the shoes, or just click here. Obviously, these Quoc Pham cycling shoes are not cheap – quality seldom is. But if you consider they are pretty much the best looking cycling shoes ever made, and you can wear them all day, and they should last for years – they start to look like a very good deal! Note that they fit on the small and narrow side, so it’s probably best to buy a size up.

Hi, Bill Greenbaum here from Quoc Pham – yup, the urbanite is approximately 585g per pair or roughly 20 – 25oz … its a little heavier than a standard road cycling shoe because its built with a thicker sole for comfort walking and also to allow for the the clipless pedal spd cavity. The lightest in the line is Fixed Shoe – think of a road cycling shoe but more elegant and no holes for a cleats. Hope this helps … cheers, b.
