The Mountains to Murray Bike Ride takes place this year on 24 November to 2 December 2018. And today is the last day to join at discounted prices! All ages, from under 10 to 80+ will participate in what is arguably the best way to see Australia – from the saddle of a bicycle! You get to ride over 500 km, have the most social week of the year, and get fitter at the same time. People from across Australia as well as all over the world will take part in the ride. Over 3,200 people are expected to do the ride this year, making it the biggest cycling event of its type in the southern hemisphere.

The beautiful Australian countryside, great country towns and a holiday atmosphere like no other are all part of the 35th edition of the Great Victorian Bike Ride. The nine-day rolling bike festival will see over 3,200 holiday makers explore the best of Australia’s High Country and Murray River regions.

Rebecca Lane, Bicycle Network General Manager – Events, says: “Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for the tranquility of country towns and the party like festivities of the Great Vic Bike Ride. Join the ride in 2018 and become part of its great 35 years of history.”

The Great Victoria Bike Ride starts in Bright, famous for being one of Victoria’s most scenic and bike friendly destinations, nestled in the foothills of the Alpine region. Two nights are spent in both historical Beechworth and the food and wine destination Rutherglen.

Ms. Lane adds:
“It’s a chance to see the real Australia and meet Aussies at the same time. Australians are known for being friendly, but put them on a bike for a week and you have a great Aussie holiday experience. Riders love to get off the beaten track, sampling local produce and dropping into restaurants, pubs and cafes. We have no doubt they’ll love the local Aussie hospitality.”
