Gore has just updated its biggest seller – its ultra lightweight, packable, breathable, waterproof and windproof form-fitting cycling jackets. The One Rescue Gore-Tex Shakedry waterproof cycling jacket features Gore’s latest breathable, windproof, Gore-tex Shakedry waterproof technology, offering top-notch rain protection in a lightweight product.

This jacket is aimed at more serious road cyclists, who want to stay dry during long rides while wearing a slim fitting jacket with an elasticated hem that allows for vigorous pedaling . The jacket is black with reflective elements. There is a half-length front zipper for cooling down, and – my favorite – a Napoleon pocket for keeping your phone close to your heart. Also includes a close-fitting ergonomic collar and hood, plus an extended back, so you are kept dry and warm from head to butt.
When not in use, this jacket folds down into a tiny, lightweight bundle than could fit even in a saddlebag. Perfect for when you are caught in a sudden downpour.
This bare bones short video shows how rain pools off the jacket, keeping it to its original light weight of just 107 grams (less than 4 oz.).

The women’s version of this jacket is the One Power Lady Gore-Tex Shakedry waterproof cycling jacket. This jacket is similar, although it allows for a somewhat more curvy physique, and it adds a bit of style with an asymmetrical collar.
This ultra light waterproof cycling jacket is highly recommended for cycling in the rain, wind, and snow, and can also double as a hiking jacket. I am really excited about this new release. It was past time to update my Gore Paklite, which has now done ten years of loyal service in rain and snow!
