Bikes are more nimble than cars at times
Vancouver’s Sun Run 2011 took place today in perfect weather conditions. I walked it with my mum, my wife and our dog, and had a great time. Although I have to admit that since we got home we have been sharing foot baths and rotating ice packs – we’re just not used to long distance walking (if it had been long-distance cycling, that would have been a different story!)
I was very happy to see a number of bikes being used as support vehicles: BC Ambulance had paramedics out in force on solid-looking bikes festooned with large quantities of supplies. What a pleasure to have the support of paramedics without the fumes of ambulances! SportMedic also had paramedics out on bikes. I wrote about how sensible this would be in a recent post (No Fun City to Become No Bike City?), and I’m so happy to see it actually happening!
It is excellent to see the paramedics on bikes. Hope your feet come “back to life” soon!
Thanks – my feet are already feeling better – Epson Salts and a vibrating foot bath work wonders 🙂
Eh, I have never heard of such a parade. The police bikes are cool. I think no doubt you and your family enjoyed to join and watch the parade. I also like such a blue sky. Thank you.
