If the cyclist in your life is techie, but is NOT planning to do any cycle touring, then spend much less money and still earn major brownie points by giving him or her a Garmin Edge 25 GPS Bike Computer. It’s billed as the smallest GPS bike computer in the world, but still packs a whole lot of power in its tiny, less than 1 oz frame. For a lot less money than most high-end bike computers, the Garmin Edge 25 tracks distance, calories burned, speed, location, and time. Give the gift of music without the irritation of wires snagging in and out of your jacket. Also, these earphones leave the ear wide open, so the cyclist can hear traffic noises. No. 7: Woolie Boolie Merino Socks
At number 7 on my list of 7 best gifts for cyclists are Woolie Boolie merino socks (cheap but great)! Below is Maggie’s review of Woolie Boolie socks.
I’m in love…with my Woolie Boolie socks. In my never ending quest for warmth and dryness during my winter bike commute, I discovered these premium socks. They are a super-comfortable blend of nylon, lycra, and merino wool. If you have never had merino wool next to your skin, you are in for a treat. So, so soft! These socks are also comfortable and durable. Despite many washings and dryings they still fit beautifully. The best thing about wool is that it continues to insulate even when it is wet. Since I have yet to perfect keeping completely dry in our Pacific Northwest winter, I still get wet cycling on the worst wet days. With these socks, my feet are warm and wet, not cold and wet. Much better! Best of all these socks are cute…yes, cute. I love the little sheep logo and the “Defeet” across my toes. They make me smile every time I put them on.
That’s a lot of choices – one of them is sure to be a great gift for the cyclist in your life!
