WHEN: Saturday August 25th & Sunday August 26th
WHAT: On Saturday, participants will begin the 10th annual Ride to Conquer Cancer by Wheaton Precious Metals, a 200+ km cycling event benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation. The total funds raised and final participant numbers for this year’s event will be announced moments before The Ride begins at the opening ceremonies in Surrey on August 25th. Moments before the start, executives from the BC Cancer Foundation, along with event organizers, will address thousands of participants and share the total number of participants and funds raised for the 2018 Ride.
WHY: The BC Cancer Foundation has set out to conquer cancer. Cancer has been the leading cause of death in Canada. It is estimated that in 2017, over 25,400 new cancer cases were diagnosed in BC.
